Either in person or on TV, which day do you choose? Saturday for the start, Sunday for the finish, other reasons?

It starts at 3 locally (I think), so second day, = 15 hours
In person, hopefully from every vewing spot around the track with in those 15 hours.

I choose Classic Le Mans....
On a more serious note, LMP1 class is gone, right? Either way, I’d go for the finish. These past couple of years have been very good in terms of close competition during the last half of the race.

Toyota is the last manufacturer in LMP1 however there are several privateer teams entering this year.

This year’s finish was incredible in GTE-Pro, so that was pretty great, but all of the pagentry at the beginning was incredible and the atmosphere is just indescribable.
That said, I’m still going with day 2 because that means you get to start at midnight and get 6 full hours of racing in the dark, which is the coolest thing about Le Mans. Start down at Mulsanne corner, try and make it to Arnage (I didn’t), and then catch the last shuttle (2am?) to the Porsche curves and slowly work your way back up to the grandstands and midway before making it to your seats for the finish.

Tough one, but I always like watching as the sun comes up.

Only thing is you get the other two races in the morning day 1, which I usually enjoy when going to an IMSA race.

As I said above, you do get two morning races on day 1. But the finish is the important part, tough choices!

UTC+11, so the race happens completely on Sunday.

I was going to say Classic as well. Though I didn’t realize it’s run on different dates....assumed it was part of the program during the week of the 24H.

And it well and truly doesn’t get dark until 11PM+ in the summer there, kind of wild.

Im actually quite glad for the different dates. Im hoping for a smaller, bit different crowd compared to Le Mans.
